Creator Terms

1. About These Terms

“CRCLX”, “we” and “us” mean CRCLX (Pty) Ltd, the operator of crclx.co.za. “You” means the creator. A “Circle” is a course or collection of episodes and materials you publish on CRCLX, and a “Member” is a person who has paid for access to a Circle.

You accept these terms by ticking the agreement box when you apply, or when we ask you to in your creator portal. We record the date and the version you accepted.

2. Applying and Approval

Creator accounts are by application. We may approve or decline any application at our discretion. You must be at least 18 years old, and the information you give us — including your identity and banking details — must be accurate and kept up to date.

The username you choose becomes your public profile link (crclx.co.za/yourname). We may change a username that is misleading, infringes someone else’s rights or breaks our Acceptable Use Policy.

3. Your Circles and Review

You build your Circles in the creator portal and submit them for review. We aim to reply within 3 working days. We may approve a Circle, ask for changes, or decline it, for example for quality, accuracy, rights or policy reasons. The same applies to new episodes you add to a live Circle. Our standards are described in the Creator Guide in your portal.

You set the price of your Circle within the limits shown in the portal. We may adjust how a Circle is presented (for example its category, placement or spotlight label), and we may unpublish a Circle that breaches these terms or our policies.

4. Revenue Share

• Payment-processing fee. A single blended fee covering card and wallet payments is deducted from each sale before the split. It is currently 3.2%. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before it changes.
• Circles CRCLX produces with you. Where CRCLX shoots, edits or otherwise produces a Circle with you, the revenue share for that Circle is agreed with you separately, and that agreement applies to that Circle.
• Costs we carry for you. We will only deduct costs from your earnings (for example paid promotion of your Circle) if you agreed to them in advance. Every deduction is itemised in your earnings page.
• Prices are in South African rand. Buyers outside South Africa are charged in rand; your share is calculated on the rand amount.

5. Payouts

• We pay your earnings for each calendar month by EFT on the last business day of the month, into the South African bank account you have verified with us.
• Your earnings page shows each sale, the fee, the split and any deductions. You will receive a statement for each payout.
• We may hold a payment while we investigate suspected fraud, a chargeback or a breach of these terms, and we will tell you why.
• You are responsible for your own income tax and, where applicable, VAT on your earnings.

6. Content Ownership and Licence

You own the content you create. CRCLX acquires no ownership of it.

You give CRCLX a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, for as long as your content is on the platform and as long as needed to honour Members’ access, to host, store, encode, display and deliver your content to Members, and to promote your Circles using their title, description, cover images and free preview episode on CRCLX and in CRCLX marketing.

Content in Circles is protected against copying and screen recording as described in our Terms of Service, and we will cooperate with you to act against unauthorised sharing.

7. Your Responsibilities

• You own, or have permission to use, everything in your Circles — including music, footage, images, brands, and the consent of anyone who appears in them.
• What you teach is honest. You will not make misleading claims, such as guaranteed income or medical outcomes.
• You will not use your Circles to send Members to buy elsewhere in a way that bypasses CRCLX.
• You will follow our Acceptable Use Policy and treat Members respectfully in community spaces.

8. Members and Refunds

Members pay once for lifetime access to a Circle, including episodes you add later. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy. Where a sale is refunded or charged back, your share of that sale is deducted from the payout for the month in which the refund is issued.

9. Suspension and Leaving

You may stop selling a Circle or close your creator account by contacting us. We will stop offering your Circles to new buyers within 30 days. Members who have already paid keep access to the Circles they bought, and you remain entitled to your share of sales made before you left.

We may suspend your account or remove content if you breach these terms or our policies. While an account is suspended, its Circles are hidden from the platform. We will tell you the reason and give you an opportunity to respond, unless the law or a serious risk to Members prevents it.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. We will email you and ask you to accept the new version in your creator portal. A change to your revenue share percentage will not take effect until at least 30 days after we notify you, and never applies to earnings already paid out.
